This is education, not advice
The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you what is happening in your own skin, whether treatment is appropriate for you, or what your skin will look like in ten years either way.
Scarring is improved, not erased
A scar is fibrous tissue that has replaced normal skin. Treatment can make scars shallower, softer and less noticeable, and no treatment restores the skin that was there before. Anyone describing complete removal of acne scarring is describing something that does not exist.
Prevention is often claimed and rarely demonstrated
A great deal is sold to people in their twenties on the argument that starting early prevents something later. For daily sun protection that argument is sound. For repeated injections into skin with nothing visible, it is not well supported, and this site says so rather than presenting it as established.
No outcome is guaranteed
Results vary with skin type, healing response, how consistently a plan is followed and how much time is allowed. No outcome and no number of sessions can be promised, and choosing not to have treatment is a legitimate clinical decision rather than a lost opportunity.
